Winchester Pt. 2

Hola a todos! I hope each of you are doing well. I hope this last week was full of good weather and adventures. We sure have had some sun and high temperatures in Maryland. This last week has been one of the fastest weeks on my mission yet. We had exchanges down in Winchester through Thursday which made the week go by super quick. It was fun to not only be back in my old area where I used to serve, but also be in the area where the new temple will be built. I saw a lot of familiar faces. I'm sure you've felt like this before, but this week was one of those weeks where you work so hard but your to-do list always stays ahead of you.
Elder Parker and I have been getting along super well. He was my first MTC companion and we get a lot done together. He's a great teacher and friend and loves to work hard.
As I have continued to make my way through the Book of Mormon, different verses stick out to me in different ways each time. 2 Nephi 9. In my personal opinion one of the great chapters of the Book of Mormon. I feel that each time I read it, new insight the Lord has for me is called to my attention. As I studied this chapter again this last week, two words came to mind: Agency and Accountability. "Therefore, cheer up your hearts, and remember that ye are free to act for yourselves-- to choose the way of everlasting death or the way of eternal life. Wherefore, my beloved brethren, reconcile yourselves to the will of God, and not to the will of the devil and the flesh; annd remember, after ye are reconciled unto God, that it is only in and through the grace of God that ye are saved." One of the greatest and key parts of the great plan of redemption is our agency. Each of us have been given the ability to choose for ourselves. I believe each of us recognize that, but I fear too rarely we take accountability for our actions. "Give the credit, take the blame." I believe that more often than not we look to blame others, we look to say and place guilt on the other person. Accountability requires humility and patience. When we set aside our emotions and take full responsibility for our actions and thoughts and cease to blame others, we can find peace of mind, forgiveness, and an abundance of the love of God in our lives. I invite you to own your decisions and actions. Cease to find fault in others before finding fault in yourself. Seek to undestand, then to be understood. I promise that as you do so, you will be capable of removing conflict from your life and replacing it with peace and love. Have a great week.
