Leaving Home MTC and on my way

Merry Christmas!

I hope today is going well for each of you! This past week of the MTC has been pretty good. I've gotten to know my companions and my district a little better. Elder Ruud, Elder Call and myself are all getting pretty excited to head in person to meet each other and the district. We went up to Idaho this last week to spend Christmas at my Grandparent's house so I've enjoyed seeing a bit of snow again and having the classic white Christmas.
Okay so a couple significant things went down this week. First, spending all my time each day in one house has allowed me to maximize my productivity in regards to learning Spanish. It feels like I've been squeezing in Spanish wherever I can. I feel like I've made a bit of progress, but it's been frustrating at times. That bit of progress is good, because the second announcement is that yesterday was our first full immersion day!! So.....kinda stressful but really exciting. From here on out each of my lessons will be entirely in Spanish.
One thing that has been a ton of fun about being here in Idaho is that my Grandparents are HUGE card players. So every single night after completing my classes we would play scum and hearts until it was time to go to bed.
Anyway, brief email but I'll be in Provo starting Wednesday! I wish each of you a very merry Christmas!
     Adios,
           Elder Blackburn
