Hola a todos! I hope each of you have been doing well this past week. Here's the update for the week! Yet again, this was the fastest week of my life. It feels like every day has just been speeding up. Which just means that Winter is coming sooner. I am not a huge fan of the cold. As you can see in the title, the only good thing I can think of about Winter is the end of the worst insect to ever exist - the mosquito.
We went on exchanges this last week too with the Zone leaders. I was paired up to go with Elder Darley, who is one of the funniest guys I have ever met. He is one of the most humble and hard-working missionaries we have in the Maryland Baltimore mission. We had a lot of fun working and learning together. The importance of following the Spirit in EVERYTHING - studies, contacting, finding, teaching, etc was reinforced in my mind. I have recently been studying chapter 11 in PMG which talks a lot about commitments and the role we have in helping other people keep commitments and work towards baptism. One thing that drew my attention was the part that talks about testimonies. Something I have focused a lot on during this last transfer is how I bear my testimony and what I say to invite the Spirit of the Lord. I have come to realize that in reality we as teachers are here to only create opportunities for the Spirit to be present. Becoming a better teacher means having the skills to create those opportunities more often and to bring the Spirit with more power.
As far as how the work is going, Augustina fell off date and so she wasn't baptized yesterday. We've been pretty torn up about it but we are confident she will still find the motivation and the desire that she needs to be baptized one of these days. Thank you to all the people who involved her in your prayers. We are grateful for you.
It is crazy to think that we are already almost to October. The fall is so beautiful, and I've been told it is the best time to be a missionary in the MBM. I can't wait until all these trees start changing colors. It is going to be so pretty.
I know some of you have birthdays this next week so if that's you, recognize I love and appreciate you and your support for me. Happy birthday!
