Hola a todos! I hope you've had a good week wherever this email might find you. This last week for me has been absolutely wild and a rollercoaster of emotions. Wednesday morning saw the end of the most fun district I've had on the mission and my time with Elder Arnett. I'm grateful for the time that I had to be his companion and for the lessons he taught me. I am now with Elder Nelson in Winchester, Virginia in what might be the worst apartment in the entire mission but I've been loving it so much. Winchester has so much potential and it excites me to get working on the dream I have for the area.
I'm with Elder Nelson who just got out of training so combined we're rocking 6 transfers of experience between the two of us. It has been so much fun to feed off of his greenie fire.
Apart from transfers, this week has just been a short stretch of chaos and I helped get Elder Arnett ready to head home and then left to start work here in Winchester. The craziest story I've got so far is related to this sign guy who's sign says "Mormons hate black people" and follows us around and spits on us. Oh and he screams at us. But other than that Winchester is actually super chill and a really quiet city in Virginia. Our area also covers a part of West Virginia so now I've served in 3 different states.
I wanted to share one of my favorite scriptures that I happened to read in my scripture studies again this week. Alma 48:17 - "Yea, verily, verily I say unot you, if all men had been, and were, and ever would be, like unto Moroni, behold, the very powers of hell would have been shaken forever; yea, the devil would never have power over the hearts of the children of men." Moroni was a captain of the Nephite armies in the Book of Mormon. Something I have come to realize is that the individuals who exemplify the characteristics I want to emulate and the man who I want to become are closely related with the stories in the Book of Mormon. The greatest role models to me are men like Captain Moroni, Ammon and the Sons of Mosiah, and Alma.
I hope everyone has a good week!
