Hola a todos!
This past week has been absolutely crazy but I will try to give a quick run-down of how things have been going here in Frederick.
For starters, I hope each of you had a good 4th of July! We went to spend the day in Baltimore and then came back to finish the night at a major park downtown watching fireworks. Our mission president had shared an experience he had with an individual who confronted him on Monday at a 4th of July activity about the idea that God has abandoned this country. Our mission president calmy responded that God has not abandoned us, we have abandoned Him. My prayer is that we love our neighbors more than we love ourselves and share the love of Christ with those who don't have as much of it in their lives.
Highlight of the week: we had exchanges with the APs on Friday and it was so much fun. We had a great time playing major tournaments of sting pong and made some great food. Our APs are not anything like how I would expect them to be. It's always so much fun when they're around.
The biggest news of the week is transfers! I wasn't expecting to go anywhere this transfer for two reasons:
1. My mission president told me that I would be staying for a 5th transfer
2. My companion Elder Arnett is going home this transfer so it wouldn't make sense for the two of us to be doubled out.
Needless to say, that's exactly what's happening. They've decided to close my area here in Frederick and hand it over to the Sister missionaries here and so Elder Arnett and I have been super upset about it the last couple of days. So what that means is that Elder Arnett heads home this Thursday and I am being moved to Winchester with Elder Nelson. I'm pretty excited, but it came so much faster than I thought it would. And it's hard to pass off people I thought I'd continue to teach for at least one more transfer.
We were at a member's home last night and since almost the entire district is leaving, they made us these non-alcoholic margaritas that were actually so good. Promise we didn't have alcohol though.
Other than that we have a crazy couple of days trying to pack and clean and be ready to head out on our next adventures!
