Hola a todos! I hope each of you are doing well. I don't know about you, but this has been one of the craziest weeks of my life. My emotions have pretty much hit every single possible option imaginable: happiness, sadness, stress, frustration, and worry. But overall it has been a pretty good week.
For those of you who know me pretty well, you know that I love Christmas. My companion Elder Stewart and I have bought a Christmas tree and it now sits in our bedroom. I literally can't wait for Christmas. However, with the changing season comes changing temperatures, and we are dipping below freezing some days this week.
We have seen a ridiculous amount of miracles this last week, and I wanted to write about one of them. The story begins as we arrive to the house of one of our investigators for a lesson. The lesson falls through, so we walk to another area where we had planned to knock some doors. We pause to check through which side of the trailer park we wanted to be in, and a Latino man hops out of a truck on the other side of the street. It looked as though he had been dropped off from work during the split 60 second period that we were standing there. He directly walked over to us and said he was a member from Mexico and had been trying to find our church here in Winchester but had failed to do so. He was super super excited to have finally found missionaries. He said he has been looking for the church and for missionaries for the last 3 months that he has lived in Winchester. I testify without a shadow of a doubt that he was hand placed by the Lord to cross paths with us. I testify that in the work of the Lord, there are no accidents.
As of yesterday, I have been out in the mission field for 11 months, which is crazy to think about. It has been the fastest 11 months of my entire life. But I wouldn't trade it for anything. We got transfer news and we are going to have a third companion joining us here in Winchester, so it'll be fun to learn how to live and teach in a trio.
Every week, I recognize more and more the power that the Book of Mormon has in changing hearts, minds, souls, and lives. I have seen miracle after miracle and I know that the evidence of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon is greatly physical as it is spiritual. It is the greatest tool for personal conversion to the truth and the greatest obstacle in an attempt to exit that truth. The prophet Nephi put it simply in regards to this sacred text: "Hearken unto these words and believe in Christ; and if ye believe not in these words believe in Christ. And if ye shall believe in Christ ye will believe in these words, for they are the words of Christ, … and they teach all men that they should do good." I bear witness unto you and unto God Himself that I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that God has restored His true and living church upon the face of the Earth. And I know that you can know too. Doubt your doubts before you doubt your faith. If you have questions or would like to meet with the missionaries to learn more, send me an email. I love each and every one of you and am continually grateful for your support and kindness that you offer me. Have a great week!
