Hola a todos! I know it has been a little while since I have written an email and I apologize, things have been super busy out here in Maryland. But in the end, that is just my rationalization.
To begin, three weeks ago we had transfers! It is a little crazy to think I've been a missionary for 18 months now. The lessons that I am and have been learning won't receive adequate gratitude as I attempt to express the love I have for my Savior and what He's done to make me who I am today. In regards to transfers, I was moved from Hagerstown MD to Clarksville MD, and was made an English missionary. It's been most certainly a learning curve for me, but we have been working hard and my companion Elder Bartlett is amazing. We have a friend on date named Marshall! Please please pray for him. When the missionaries found him and started to teach him, he was atheist. Now he's getting baptized!
I don't have a lot of time today, but I wanted to share a personal thought from some of my studies from this last week. I've been reading the new testament cover to cover, and am in the book of Romans. I've found so many verses that I just absolutely love, but I wanted to share one that has always penetrated my soul. Romans 1:16, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." My dear brothers and sisters, do not be ashamed of a testimony of the gopsel of Jesus Christ. Hold not thy peace, and do not shink away from what you know to be true. This is the true and everlasting gospel of Jesus Christ in its fullness on the Earth today. This is the true church of Christ. The Book of Mormon is the very word of God which has brought the spirit of truth and light into the lives of what is now millions and millions of readers. Do not let your doubts overcome your testimony of the greatest work and truth on Earth.
Con amor,
Elder Blackburn
